Grade 5 & 6 Wayne Thiebaud Cakes

Here are the final sculptures that my Grade 5 & 6 class created. We have looked at the artist model Wayne Thiebaud. The cakes have been made out of Do & Dry clay which does not need to be put in a kiln. The students then painted their cakes with acrylic paint.

Recent Nutcracker Paintings

This picture is called Kapa Haka Nut Cracker - As the Nutcracker drinks the beer he morphs into a 'Tiki' figure. The inspiration from this piece comes from Dick Frizzel's 'Mickey to Tiki Tu Meke'.
In this painting I have combined traditional Maori 'Moko' tattoo with a traditional German Nutcracker. My idea is to combine to icons and ideas from the Country I am from and the country I live in.
